As a natural outgrowth of his involvement in powerlifting, Mark Chaillet co-founded the International Powerlifting Association (IPA) in 1993. Mark remains the Association’s President and Chairman dedicated to creating and maintaining a platform on which lifters can compete safely, expect fair and consistent judging, enjoy the highest quality specialty equipment available, benefit from exceptional meet venues and seamlessly run events. The IPA promotes the sport to ensure growth and recognition.

Through the IPA, Mark co-directs the annual IPA World Powerlifting Championships and the IPA Senior National Powerlifting Championships with his IPA partner Ellen Chaillet, while approving sanctions for other IPA meet directors. The IPA is proud to include in its stable of exceptional lifters several All-Time Record Holders, many of whom broke these hard sought after records these meets.
